The primary mission of Congregational Care is to ensure that the care needs of the Providence UMC congregation are met. Within this work area, services are provided that promote care for our congregation: Prayer Ministry, Stephen Ministry, ChristCare, Homebound Ministry, Hospital Visitation, Special Needs, Bereavement Ministry, Medical Equipment Assistance and Providence on Wednesday. For additional information about the ministries of Congregational Care contact our chairperson.
Bereavement Ministry: Consists of caring and dedicated members who are available to serve families following the loss of a loved one, guiding and helping before, during, and after the funeral/memorial service.
ChristCare: Offers the opportunity to meet in a small group to know, pray, worship and fellowship with others in a casual setting; study the Bible to strengthen personal commitment to God or study materials to meet the specific needs of the small group with the purpose of reaching out to others in the church and community.
Homebound Ministry: Visitation to our members who cannot come to church services and church sponsored activities. A Sunday service worship DVD is provided to those who are unable to attend services. If you know of someone who might benefit from this ministry, you may call the church office at 704.366.2823.
Hospital Visitation: A visitation ministry conducted by our Pastoral staff and Stephen Ministers. Due to HIPPA privacy regulations, hospitals cannot notify us if members are patients. If a member or a loved one is hospitalized you may call the church office at 704.366.2823 and request a hospital visitation.
MEDIHELP: Loans medical equipment, such as crutches, wheelchairs, etc. on a temporary basis to members in need. Contact our MEDIHELP chairperson.

Providence on Wednesday (POW): An opportunity for all to enjoy food, fun, fellowship and service. After a delicious meal, programs are offered with speakers, entertainment and other topics of interest. Some Disciple Bible studies meet afterwards. This is an informal way to connect with our church family between Sunday services. Dinner reservations are required.
