Cindy Smith serves as Director of Children and Family Ministries.  Cindy has a passion for Christian Education and has served at St. Stephen UMC and Myers Memorial UMC (Gastonia).  On a 'Walk to Emmaus'  spiritual retreat, she felt the call to ministry and then pursued her Masters in Christian Education from Pfeiffer University.  Cindy also has an MA degree from UNCC and a BA degree from Clemson University (Go Tigers!).  Prior to church service, Cindy was Public Relations and Communications Director for Goodwill Industries and Red Cross here in Charlotte. 

Cindy was born in Virginia and grew up in Gastonia.  She currently resides in Matthews.

Cindy is the proud mom of Ben, Katie and Keith.  Ben married his college sweetheart, Kristin, at Lake Junaluska this summer and lives in the Ashville area.  Cindy's twins, Keith and Katie, are students at Gaston College.

Cindy enjoys creative writing, movies, the beach, and her little Shil-Tzu, Gracie.
