Minister with Youth and College Students
Teresa is a native of Charlotte, and has served Providence since 1998. Her experience in youth ministry spans over 20 years, and includes volunteer and staff positions. Teresa is a graduate of Pfeiffer University (BA, Summa Cum Laude). During her years at Providence, she obtained her Master’s of Christian Education also from Pfeiffer University and completed the additional courses needed to pursue ordination in the United Methodist Church. In 2011, Teresa passed the Board of Ordained Ministry and was ordained as a Deacon in full connection at the Western North Carolina Annual Conference. She has also served on the design team for the District Leadership Conference and consults with local churches in the development and design of prayer stations and rooms.
Teresa has an extensive background in dance as a performer, including a tour throughout the country and as an instructor and choreographer for all ages. From this experience, she is able to incorporate liturgical dance in worship and other forms of ministry.
Teresa is married to David Dunn, also of Charlotte. David is a teacher and coach at Randolph Middle School and enjoys working with the youth at Providence as a UMYF counselor and a mission trip crew leader. Recently, Teresa and David traveled to Cap Haitian, Haiti to lead a college team to further the work of Providence at the School of Mercy in Milot, Haiti. They have two children, Chaselyn (10) and Seth (7). Teresa enjoys trips with her family, singing, and scrapbooking.
Teresa and David are enthusiastic about serving at Providence and feel blessed to minister to such a wonderful group of teenagers!
