Mission Trip to Haiti

On Tuesday, April 17, 2012, eight members of Providence UMC will travel to Haiti to serve at our three missions.  We will work at the School of Mercy, visit The Haiti Mission, and distribute new microcredit loans to a rural community.  Thank you in advance for your prayers for the mission team and for our friends in Haiti.  To get connected to these global missions of Providence, please contact Carol Shinn.  Visit our Haiti page of this website for more information about our partners and our work.

The Haiti Mission

Please keep The Haiti Mission in your prayers this week.  Today, April 13, 2012, a medical team goes today to treat and comfort an estimated 3000 Haitians in the Tovar medical clinic.  If yuo'd like to connect to this 30-year ministry of Providence UMC, please contact Carol Shinn.

5th Annual Haiti Attic Sale, Saturday August 25

Please don't throw away those kitchen items that you no longer use, or the art and decor that just doesn't work in your house anymore, or any sporting goods, garden equipment, or furniture that you no longer need.  Instead, donate these items to the Providence UMC Missions Attic Sale to benefit Haiti.  We are unable to accept sofa beds, mattresses, bed pillows, electronics (TVs, computers, phones, etc.) or adult clothing.  Infant and children's clothing are welcome.

If you don't have room to store these items until early August, contact Karen Branan to arrange a pick up.  We have a few men who have already volunteered to help us out with pick up but we are still looking for a few more.  Please contact Karen if you would be available to be part of our pick up team.

For the last two years this sale has raised over $33,000 each year for the Providence UMC Haiti missions which includes the Haiti School of Mercy, the medical clinic in Tovar, and the microcredit loans program.  Please help us make this year's sale just as successful by donating items, volunteering to help, and spreading the word to friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

Contact Kathy Hammack and/or Cyndy Parr with questions.
