Haiti School of Mercy

SOM Girl LollipopThe School of Mercy is located in the rural Carmilot area, in the northern mountains of Haiti, south of Cap Haitien.  Re-opened in 2008, the school provides a free primary education for 200+ children in pre-K through 6th grade.  We employ thirteen well-qualified teachers who ensure that our students meet rigorous standards year to year and partner with many different organizations and individuals that help provide books, supplies, uniforms, facility improvements, and special programming.

To alleviate hunger for our students, Providence now provides lunch for our students through a partnership with the Solidarity School of Tremesse, the Robert Ford Orphanage and School, and Stop Hunger Now.  We package meals for Stop Hunger Now in our own Charter Hall each year. SOM Sign Banner
