Congregational Care at PUMC

Congregational Care's primary missino is to ensure tht the care needs of the Providence United Methodist congregation are met. Under this work area you will find services that promote care for our congregation, including: Prayer Ministry, Stephen Ministry, ChristCare, Homebound Ministry, Hospital Visitation, Special Needs, Providence on Wednesday, Helping Hands and Bereavement Assistance.

Bereavement: assistance with families when there is a death in our congregational family.

ChristCare Groups: offers the opportunity for you to know, pray with, worship with, and fellowship with others in a small group and a confidential setting, to study the Bible together, to strengthen your personal commitments to God, and to reach out to others in our church and in our community.

Helping Hands: opportunities to give hands-on help to our members in special times of need and accepting donations of medical equipment to lend.

Homebound Visitation: staying connected with those who cannot get out and go. If there is someone whom you think may benefit from this ministry, please call the church office.

Hospital Ministry: please call the church office if you know someone is in the hospital, so that we don't miss anyone.

Prayer Ministry: by calling a member of the prayer chain, a church member may make a request for confidential prayer. This committee also organizes the Easter Prayer Vigil.

Providence on Wednesday / POW : providing many opportunities for food, fun fellowship and service. Volunteers are always needed and welcomed.

Special Needs: provides a welcoming and supportive faith community for those with special needs among us, the Joy Class meets during Sunday School hour and on Wednesday evenings for POW, as well as for some special events.

Stephen Ministry: helping members deal during difficult times and would like a special person to walk with them and to be a prayer support.
