Rev. Augusto Caldera and his wife, Rosa, operate a Hispanic ministry out of Memorial United Methodist Church, located on the east side of Charlotte. Church services, vacation Bible school, outreach ministries and crisis assistance are just a few of the programs offered by this ministry.

Bolivia

The Funks (John and Suzanne, Jonathan (age 12) and Jeffrey (age 10)) are based at a Technical Agricultural High School located in a rural area. The students live at the school Monday - Friday and are transported home on weekends. Communication with the outside world is limited to the times when the Funks can travel to another area for mail and computer access.

Congo

David and Lori Persons are involved with the Mulungwishi Seminary and Mulungwishi Nutrition Program. The seminary provides a Chrisitan education and Theological training for students. The nutrition program provides food for approximately 200 malnourished children in the area. They have unpredictable access to computers, but can be e mailed at persons_mulungwishi@hotmail.com

 

Indonesia

Don and Ramona Turman are retired mission volunteers who spend six month a year in Jakarta. There, they are involved with a church, a seminary, a school and a medical clinic. The funding they receive is used for scholarships to the seminary.

Jamie, Holle and Thomas Wollin are the son, daughter in law and grand son of Jim and Susan Wollin. They are completing their studies at Asbury Theological Seminary and hope to go to Thailand this summer where they plan to be involved with the Phayao Seminary and develop a ministry for children in crisis.

Latvia

Courtney and Dan Randall are daughter and son-in-law of Dulcy and Bill Michel. Based in Riga, the are involved with the youth ministry, curriculum development and continuing education for clergy and laity. They are also involved with the Hope Center; a home for former female orphanage residents and their babies.
