The life of Providence Church's Methodist Men's Fellowship revolves around a monthly Sunday morning gathering, or fellowship. Every fellowship offers a menu aimed at promoting men's growth in their relationships with both Jesus Christ and each other. Food - Fellowship - Faith The life of Providence Church's Methodist Men's Fellowship revolves around a monthly Sunday morning gathering, or fellowship. Every fellowship offers a menu aimed at promoting men's growth in their relationships with both Jesus Christ and each other: First Course: FOOD. To ensure a comfortable setting for Christian discipleship, we break bread with a tasty, hearty breakfast. Second Course: FELLOWSHIP. At MMF we meet, and get to know, fellow disciples of Christ from throughout the Church around the coffee and the breakfast table. We extend a welcome to men of all ages. Good friendships are made and grow at MMF. Third Course: FAITH. Our main course each time is a healthy portion of Jesus Christ. We grow as Christians as we grow in our relationship with the Lord and in our knowledge of what it means to follow him in this day and time.
Service projects include support of the church's youth basketball program, contributions to the Children's Home in Winston-Salem and support of the church youth's Appalachian Service Project. Group conducts sells BBQ yearly (in conjunction with Boy Scout Troop 11) to raise funds.
At the Methodist Men's Fellowship, we build Servant Leaders among men in the United Methodist Church A UUMen Servant Leader is developed when a man makes a commitment to personal and spiritual growth in 3 areas Friends - Evangelism Many men in our church and society really need and want a few true friends: men who will go with you through life's gauntlet - celebrating victory, sharing grief and standing with you in good times and bad. Godly men are shaped and tempered by other Godly men. Every United Methodist Man deserves a few bonded brothers. Fishermen - Mission Fruit can only follow farming. When Godly men are bonded in biblical friendship, building themselves spiritually together, they become fit and equipped for Kingdom work and service. Followers of Christ are always involved in meaningful work - first in their families and local congregations, workplace witness, service work, missions and outreach. Followers - Spiritual Life When a man becomes a follower of Christ, Jesus has become his Savior and Lord. Discipleship is where the rubber meets the road or the rut. Spiritual growth of our men is the top priority of Methodist Mens Fellowship. Men will flourish as every man becomes committed personally to daily prayer and bible study, accountable relationships and actively seeking God's will for his life. |
