On behalf of the Staff Parish Relations Committee, we are delighted to welcome Anna Smith as our new Director of Children's and Family Ministries.  She will continue in her role as the Weekday School Director.  We are creating a new model for Providence United Methodist Church with a vision of "one children's program with two parts".  
Anna has served as our interim Director of Children and Family Ministries since March and as Director of the Weekday School since 2008.  She holds a BS in Education with a major in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia and has actively served families through her experiences as a Sunday School teacher, a member of Camp Tekoa Planning Committee and Family Life Activities. 
We know you will warmly welcome her and support her during this transition period as she focuses on continuing and expanding the tradition of excellent children and family ministries.  We will celebrate Anna and Promotion Sunday with a reception following the 11:00am worship service on Sunday, August 26.

Would you be interested in joining Pastor John and Pastor Stephanie on a Discipleship Trek to Israel?  Some highlights of the ten day trip:  Sea of Galilee, Capernum,  Nazareth, Megiddo and Caesarea, Jericho, Qumran, Bethlehem, Jerusalem and the Old City.
