PUMPKIN PATCH

THE PROVIDENCE YOUTH PUMPKIN PATCH is upon us! The PATCH has become a hallmark of PUMC for this community! It has also served as a very successful fund-raiser for the Youth Ministry Projects throughout the year. In the past, the Patch has funded a large number of local and global outreach efforts, including both of the summer Youth Mission Trips. It also helps lower costs of retreats, activities, etc.

It is important that we see how something as vast as a field of pumpkins can turn into something so profitable. It is important that we continue to learn teamwork, commitment, and to put others first. It is important that we touch the “vine” and become the “branches” to build the Kingdom. As you can see, the Patch is more than just a lot of pumpkins; it is critical to the mission of the Youth Ministry at PUMC.

For these outreach efforts and mission trips to continue to be successful, we must have YOUR help. This call for assistance comes in three phases: (1) unload pumpkins, (2) be a Pumpkin Patch Keeper, (3) purchase and encourage others to purchase pumpkins.

PUMPKIN UNLOADING

Pumpkins arrive on SUNDAY, September 28th at 12:30pm. With the help of wheelbarrows, unloading will be more individualized this year rather than passing along pumpkins. The more helping hands that we have, the easier unloading!!! I know this year there is a home Panthers game. We will be streaming the game so we can help out while cheering on our team as well!

PATCH HOURS

Monday through Sunday the Patch will be open from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. In most cases, these shifts are in 1.5 hour increments, which makes for a small-time commitment on everyone’s part. Weekday shifts between 10:00 and 4:00 are the hardest to fill, so please sign up for one or several of these times, if possible. Remember, each Youth is responsible for covering 4 shifts (i.e. 1 Youth = 4 shifts, 2 Youth = 8 shifts, etc.) by a Youth/Parent. For their safety, Middle Schoolers working need to have either a Sr. High school student or a parent scheduled with them.

Remember, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents are all welcome to pitch in with us. We need help from everyone for another successful year. Together, we can sell over $30,000 (Our profit would then be $12,000)!
