Meet the Rev. Steve Autrey

Steve Autrey began his tenure as Providence UMC's Senior Pastor in July 2026, bringing thirty years of leadership in ordained ministry and service to the United Methodist Church.

A native of Western North Carolina, Steve holds degrees from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and Duke Divinity School, and is currently working toward a Doctor of Ministry degree at Duke Divinity School.

The Wesleyan understanding of God's grace transformed Steve's life, and it continues to shape how he preaches, leads, and walks alongside his congregation.

Steve is married to Marcy, and they have two young adult daughters, Elizabeth and Maggie. The family is under the constant vigilance and protection of their beloved German Shepherd, Zenny.
